Sinar Eco Resort: A Tranquil Escape From The City

sinar eco resort

Covering over 8 acres of land, Sinar Eco Resort has got two main areas, one side being the farm/camping area near to the river and the other side is where the lodging area is along with the main reception.

Located in the small town of Pekan Nanas, the resort is just an hour drive away from JB Sentral Customs. So don’t be surprised if you find yourself surrounded by Palm trees during the drive into the resort!

Sinar Eco Resort: Modern Lodging in a Farm

There are two kinds of room option at the resort, one being the container rooms which as the name suggests, built using those shipping containers. The other option is the apartment rooms which is in the same building as the main reception area. Apartment rooms are suitable for families or bigger groups.

Standard Apartment Common Living Area

Apartment rooms are suitable for families or bigger groups. Each apartment room requires a minimum of 4 to stay and they share a common living room within the apartment.

Nautical Theme Apartment

Nautical Theme Apartment Room

The furniture in the apartment were all built by the staff at the resort. They have a workshop by the farm area where the staff are able to create furniture etc based on their own creativity! There’s one apartment which is a Nautical theme and the idea came from the staff!

Container Room Washroom

Container rooms are more suited for couples and fit maximum up to three persons. I stayed at the ground level container room and love how easily accessible I can get back to my room. The full-length window in the room allows for good lighting in the room and I love it! The room comes with all the amenities you will find in a standard hotel room.

The rooms are of a modern design and are very clean and comfortable. And yes, the bed is really comfortable! The rooms definitely exceeded the expectations of one would have from an Eco Resort.

The wallpaper is a perfect backdrop for selfies~ 😀

Food @ Sinar Eco

Yummy fried rice served during lunch.

Meals are served at the cafe right next to the reception area. I must say that I’m very well fed with the delicious home-cooked meals served up by the resort! There’s Fried Rice for lunch, Fried Chicken Chop for dinner, Nasi Lemak for Breakfast! You can opt for BBQ dinner at the poolside too!

Farm Experience & Activities At Sinar Eco Resort

Getting Up close with the Farm Animals!

Being a city girl, I hardly ever got close to farm animals even as a kid. Sure, there’s the zoo but there’s a barricade in between so you don’t really get to touch the animals. So when I saw all the animals, I was squealing like a kid. I must say I was a little scared too but you can’t blame me when you have baby goats running up to you and trying to play with you. But the baby animals are so adorable!!!

Tell me, where can you get to carry a one-day old baby sheep? Such a darling!

Getting to meet and touch the animals are not the only thing you can do! You can get your hands wet while having a go at milking the cows, and ride the horses too!

It was my first time seeing horses in real life and I was overwhelmed with excitement! I had a go at riding the horse and it was so tall!! I must admit it’s a little scary while I’m riding the horse but I was at ease because the groom was holding and leading the horse all the while.

Adventure at Sinar Eco

Other than having fun with the farm animals, one can have a go at activities like ATV rides, Kayaking, Eco-Rafting and Archery etc. You can also take either a day or night cruise down the river.

I had a go at Archery and I must say it’s not as easy as it seems. Air pistol or the real deal for me anytime! Lol. The ATV ride was fun and filled with adrenaline rush and be sure to expect mud flying all over if it’s wet!

Went for the river cruise at night and had a lovely time enjoying the night sky filled with stars! I even spotted a couple of fireflies on the ride! I definitely recommend the cruise at night! For the more adventurous type, you can even camp at the riverside for the ultimate experience!

Fun Fact: All the rafts were built by the staff at the resort! And while I was there, they are in the midst of building a 2 story raft! How cool is that?

Relax and Chill At the Resort

After all the fun and adventure at the resort, you can also opt to chill by the poolside at night and have a BBQ dinner.

Spacious Pool Room to accommodate large groups.

Karaoke room with large screen and great sound system!

They also have a very well equipped Karaoke room for you to sing to your heart’s fill. No worries about noise pollution since the only one who might complain are the chickens and goose near to the Karaoke room. If you are not a fan of singing, there’s always the pool room. 🙂

An overview of the resort from the rooftop.

They are also building a Sky Bar at the rooftop of the apartment block. I went up there and the view is awesome. You get a great overview of the whole resort! Imagine relaxing at the bar in the evening with the awesome view. Can’t wait to see how the bar looks like once it’s completed.

Thoughts on Sinar Eco Resort:

Just officially opened in October 2016, the resort is pretty new and they are adding new things every now and then! I highly recommend this place for a short getaway from the bustling city life! The resort is great for families and also suitable for young adults like me! There’s something for everyone to enjoy!

I enjoyed myself during the 2 Days 1 Night stay over at the resort and it’s a really nice break away from the fast paced city! Would love to return when their sky bar is completed!

Here’s a video to sum up my 2D1N stay at the resort! 😀

Pokemon Cafe Singapore – Overall Review

joyceforensia-pokemon-cafe

Perhaps it was AFA weekend, but the queue was pretty short and fast when I was there on a Saturday afternoon around lunch time. The waitress will go down the queue explaining the menu to you and taking your orders. Once there’s a vacant table available, they will lead you into the cafe to your seats. But not before collecting the freebies based on your orders and taking a photo with the backdrop!

The food was served pretty quickly and the taste is pretty decent. It’s not fantastic, but it’s not bad either. Drinks wise pretty much taste like normal soft drinks. The latte and milk might taste better but they don’t come with free charms. LOLOL.

alola-volcano

Is it worth a visit? If you’re a huge fan of Pokemon/Pikachu, I would say yes. But of course, once is enough. They do have merchandise available for purchase even if you don’t dine at the cafe. And they do have a Pikachu Praline Cake at $9.90 available for takeaways too.

Pokemon Cafe Sun & Moon Singapore

Location: Bugis Junction #04-05

Period: 24th November 2016 to 19th February 2017.

Enjoy your time at the Pokemon Cafe!

Shirohato: Pretty & Cute Lingerie

Alright, this is going to be quite an intimate post since we are talking about intimate wear today. I’ve always had difficulties finding the right fit for my assets in stores locally and I probably have been wearing the wrong sizes for the longest time. Brands like Triumph do have my size but in limited designs. Think those nude and ‘old-fashioned’ type with thick straps. >~<

Most of the time, you won’t find my size for those cute and pretty designs. I did force myself in certain one band size/cup size smaller bras with pretty designs when I started buying my own intimates. But I can tell you they are totally uncomfortable.

Shirohato: Lingerie & Intimate Apparel Online Store

Introducing Shirohato, a Japanese online store selling pretty and adorable lingerie for women of all sizes!

shirohato intimates

I stumbled upon Shirohato while window shopping on Qoo10 one day. They have a huge range and variety of lingerie in all sizes! Prices were very reasonable, starting from $16++ to the high-end brands at $100++. I was pretty much tempted by the designs so I researched on euro sizing against Japanese sizing and made a trial purchase. (Lingerie featured in this post are from my latest 2nd haul from them.)

My usual sizing was 38D/36E for brands that can be found locally. For my 1st purchase from Shirohato, I bought in D85, E85 and F85. The D one is a tad too small while the band size was just nice. F85 had too long a band size while the cup fits nicely. E85 was pretty much the perfect fit.

While shopping for my 2nd haul, some designs that I really like doesn’t have E85 so I got them in F80. Always drop the band size by one size if you take one cup size up and vice versa.

The Haul

img_6780Risa Magli Miracle Honey Bra~ (F75) $35.50

I’m really more of a cute design person as compared to sexy. LOL!! I really like the embroidered flowers on this one. No F80 so I took a chance with F75 and it fits! Hehe~

shirohato braFairy Rose Garden Push Up~  (F80) $18.50

This is more of the classic “Triumph” kind of design.

img_6778This set is a collaboration between Shirohato and Triumph. (E85) $36.80 (Discounted Price)

Love the dusty pink and grey combination! And the details are dainty and cute.

img_6781Etu Rose Bra & Panty Set (E85) $17.60

Ok, I got this simply cause it’s really affordable. And all girls need a set of white intimates in their closet.

img_6782Simple Flower Lace Push Up~ (E85) $19.90

Another classic design in Black~ And yes, push up for the extra support. And trust me, people like me do need the extra support, plus it looks nicer. LOL. Just compare it with the white set and you can see the difference!

The Fairy Rose Garden one when worn.

shirohato try on

My favourite set of the haul.

Shirohato is probably where I’ll be buying all my future intimates due to its super reasonable pricing. My haul for 4 sets plus 1 bra only cost me $127.55 after using Qoo10 coupons. A set from Triumph would have cost me around the same price.

Plus, there’s a lot more designs for me to choose from! Maybe it doesn’t matter to some, but it makes me happier wearing pretty stuff even if it’s only I, myself can see. And to add on, they are all very comfortable to wear! 🙂

Of course, it’s important to get your sizes right. And they do have very affordable sets for you to try out your sizing. Just remember that Japanese sizes tend to run slightly smaller.

I highly recommend checking out Shirohato because they really have sizes catering to A-F and band sizes from 65-85 and really lovely designs! Some really nice designs still don’t have my size but I’m contented to what’s available. ^.^

Share your haul with me if you do buy from them!

Classic Cufflinks For The Fathers

Happy Father’s Day to all Fatherly Figure in the World!

Cufflinks: A Unique Gift for The Fathers In Your Life

Fathers played an important part in everyone’s life. There are many father figures around us. Our Fathers, GrandFathers, Brothers who have their own family, the Father of your child etc.

To me, I’m blessed because I’ve 3 fatherly figures around me in the form of my 3 elder siblings, who took care of me as a baby while my mother goes to work. Who acted as the Fatherly figures I need when both are not free for my Meet The Parents.

And of course we all have our favourites, and hence I’m gifting my second brother a unique gift this Father’s day to show my appreciate since Singapore don’t really have a happy brothers’ day. LOL.

Cufflinks singapore

Men these days are dressing better and better and they too, need little accessories to complete the whole look. Watches are no doubt one of men’s favourite accessories! Hence, I didn’t spend much time to decide on the right Cufflinks to get! It’s literally a no-brainer! You can’t go wrong with mechanical gear designs for men! Plus they come in a nice velvet box that’s so classy and ready to gift!

Cufflinks Mecanique

The design I’ve picked out is Mecanique, which is similar to that of a watch gear! Look at how intricate the design is! I also loved how it actually moves! Definitely a design guys would love though I doubt they will be wow-ed by the fact that it moves. I mean guys are harder to impress as compared to girls. They are more practical in a way that makes it so hard to shop for gifts for them!

Thankfully for Cufflinks Singapore, making buying gifts for men so much simpler so that we can spend more time on our own shopping! 🙂

timepiece cufflinks

Look how well the cufflinks blended in with the watches! I’m sure most men would love designs like this! They also have several other designs related to timepieces and also a whole range of classic and unique designs!

So do checkout Cufflinks Singapore if you have yet to get a present for your Fathers this Father’s day! Better late than never!

And of course, cufflinks are great gift for the dads, husbands, boyfriends and even brothers!

Quote JOYCEFORENSIA15 to enjoy 15% discount across all designs! They provide free shipping and refund within 7 days just in case there’s an issue with the product! How thoughtful is that to provide shoppers a peace of mind while shopping online?!

Smart Travels With TheSmartLocal!

As the title suggests, I’m gonna do a little sharing about TheSmartLocal today, more so on their travel related posts!

thesmartlocal

Travel Tips From A Local Viewpoint

I’m not a frequent traveler, I go out of the country just once or maximum twice a year. However, one thing I do realised is that most of the travelogues out there ain’t local. Not that’s it’s a huge issue as I still get the information I need but sometimes it feels more relatable when the travelogue is written by a fellow Singaporean. Which is also part of the reason why I try my best to blog about my trips even though I really take a long time to do so.

With an upcoming trip to Tokyo in June, I was quite happy to find several posts on TheSmartLocal to provide ideas for my trip! After reading this post on 14 Wacky Experience in Tokyo, I know that I’ve to add Yanaka Street into my itinerary!

Travel Hacks/Ideas That You Never Heard Of?

thesmartlocal travel hacks

This Traveler’s Box is pretty damn cool? Sadly, the nearest box they have in Asia is in the Philippines. Come on, we need one in good old Changi Airport too! Me and the Mum have like different coin purses full of coins from the countries we have been. I’m sure there’s quite a sum there.

And of course, other than travel hacks, TheSmartLocal actually have many posts telling you what do to in the countries that they themselves have been too.

This post on 14 free things to do in Hong Kong  actually changed my mind about my trip to HK last July. It wasn’t the best trip but reading through the article knowing that I did at least 5 things on the list made me feel better about it. Haha.

the smartlocal hongkong

Yes, the crazycatlady in me went to hunt down Brother Cream when in HK. Sadly, he was taking a nap when I was there.

My Thoughts On TheSmartLocal

As a local portal, I really think that it’s a great site to visit for travel tips despite it being sponsored. I also like how they have a lot of travel posts on our neighbour countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia etc. These countries are not on the top of the list on many people’s travel list as they would think them as 3rd world countries etc. But after reading several posts, there’s actually many fun things you could do there!

I do wish that there are more posts on Japan and Korea since these 2 countries are one of the most popular travel destinations in Asia these days for locals.

Oh and they have a huge section on things to do in Singapore! If you ever ran out of ideas of what to do with your friends and got tired of the weekly visit to town, check them out for ideas!

It’s nice to have sites like TheSmartLocal and more which gives useful information from a local viewpoint! Now you know where to go if you need more travel and lifestyle tips!

XOXO,
Joyce.Forensia
