I was having a draught of dryness on my skin and it is timely that Vichy launch their new Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Serum. (In stores 1st April)
I’ve received the Dynamic Hydration Serum and the Aqualia Thermal Light cream from Vanity Trove. Vanity Trove is collaborating with Vichy for this campaign. You can also find reviews of the serum from other users with different skin types on Vanitytrove.com!
The star product that we want to look at is the Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Serum! Combined with the latest technology, this serum is able to even out the water level throughout the different parts of the face. In a way, it is able to detect the more dehydrated areas of the face and hydrates that part more. Interesting ain’t it?
The consistency of this serum is very light and watery. Upon application, it turns into water and absorbs really quickly into the skin. Skin feels slightly bouncier after two weeks of use. I’m not sure how the technology behind this serums actually works to identify the less hydrated areas but I do find that my face is not as dry as before. It does not have that super tight feeling right after washing too. My cheeks which are usually experiencing the tight sensation no longer feels that tight.
This is the Aqualia Thermal Light Cream that complements with the use of the serum. This cream is available in both the light and rich formulas. The Rich would be suitable for those with really dry skin. For people with normal/combine and oily skin, the Light cream would be a better choice.
The Light cream is a semi translucent white cream of gel texture and is very light upon application too. It absorbs fast enough and skin feels smooth and cool. I find that my make up applies better when I use this cream in my routine.
A closer look at the Light cream.
I actually received the Aqualia Thermal Rich Cream from another event so here’s a small comparison with the Light cream.
The Rich cream on the left and Light cream on the right. You can see that the Rich cream is denser and more opaque in colour. It is slightly thicker but absorption is still very fast. Both creams does not leave behind any sticky feeling.
I will actually recommend using the serum as it’s really light and suitable for the humid weather in Singapore. The Light cream can be used as a day cream and the Rich cream as a night cream even for those with oily skin. Just be sure to apply a thin layer if you’re more towards the oily side. For those with dry skin, don’t be afraid to apply a thicker layer.
After two weeks of usage, I observed that my skin feels smoother, more plump and less dry. My skin was flaking before and the flaking have definitely reduced greatly.
I also love how light the serum and cream are. For someone who have combination sensitive skin like mine, I’m very afraid of thick creams as they might be too thick and break me out. I never had this problems with Vichy products as they constantly improve on their products making it suitable for the humid weather here in Asia.
I’ll rate this range a 4/5 stars!
