Event: Grand Plastic Surgery

Grand Plastic Surgery Over the weekend, I attended an event hosted for Grand Plastic Surgery at Orchard Central. Grand Plastic Surgery is one of the top leading Plastic Surgery Hospital in Korea with leading surgeons in their team. They are located in Gangnam, Garosugil in Seoul as a stand alone building with 21 stories to cater to the needs and convenience of their patients. Some fun statistics told to us is that Singaporeans made up of 8% of the international patients of Grand Plastic Surgery. Nose and breast surgeries seems to be the popular procedure among this 8%. Also, there’s quite a number who flew all the way to Korea for revision procedures on areas that they might have procedures already done locally or elsewhere.   IMG_0674.JPG Blogger GollyLocks sharing her experience on her plastic surgery journey with Grand Plastic Surgery. She did quite a major procedure which is the jaw surgery. And I do find that she now has a softer look compared to before based on my memory of her.   IMG_0673.JPG One to one consultation with Dr Rhee Se Whan from Grand Plastic Surgery (Deputy Director/Specialised Plastic Surgeon). I guess this is exactly how the consultation will be done in actual. The doctor will access your features and advice you on your problem areas with a translator at the side. The doctor will also be drawing simple diagrams to show you your problems and how it should be rectify and what are the procedures recommended.   IMG_0671.JPG I took the chance for a consultation with Dr Rhee too. As you all know, my nose is always a concern for me. So according to the professional advice from Dr Rhee, I have a pretty short and wide nose. Short is probably cause I don’t even have a bridge to start with. Haha. He looked at my side profile and drew out the outline showing that my forehead is pretty protruding(No need fat grafting. LOL) which makes my nose seems more sunken into the face. I can’t remember the actual terms used for the procedures he recommended, but basically is silicone to build a bridge, lengthening the tip of my nose and also to cut of the sides of the nose to make it smaller. I also asked Dr Rhee for other recommendations on other procedures that I might need for my face. He recommended me to do fat grafting on my smile lines as they are pretty deep which I agree and also to melt the fats around my jawline.  Also, I got to know that even fats have different survival rates according to the areas. Hence, the fats from the thighs are usually used for fat grafting procedures as the fats there is of the highest quality. (Is that why it is so difficult to get rid of the fats there?)

Will I be going for these procedures some might ask? At my current age, which is soon to be 25 as of this post, I think it is still too early for me to make any permanent changes to my face. To be honest, I really would love to have a higher nose bridge (I think my wide nose is quite proportionate to my big face) but I’m still quite apprehensive against the idea of having silicone in my face for the rest of my life. Yes, we can use the cartilages either from the ribs or hips instead but that would actually leave a scar as I’m told. I also think that I’m still at the age where my features are still changing over time and it might change slightly once I stopped being lazy and start working hard to get rid of those unwanted fats. So I guess, no invasive procedures for me at this point of time but I don’t mind doing fillers again though. 🙂

Total Face Makeover by Privé

Hi all! I’m finally here to share with you my makeover experience at Privé!

Firstly, let’s take a close look at my face before I have any treatment done. Let’s spot the problems! I’ve like a puffy face, imagine the puffer fish or look at my photo below. And my nose, there’s totally no bridge at all. >< My face is like pretty flat and so Dr Soh suggested to do nose and cheek fillers and I was promised a very visible difference.

The first process being starting any treatments is to remove the makeup on the areas that is going to be treated and then apply numbing cream on those areas. In my case, it’s the nose and cheeks area as you can see from the photo below. You can’t really feel the needles after the numbing cream except for a little prick.

This was after the nose and one side of the cheeks were done. The cheek fillers are to create volume and lift up the cheekbone area. Check out the difference!

Here’s when everything’s done. If you noticed, there were slight bruising on the cheeks but it’s perfectly normal! The bruise were gone after resting for a day. XD

Fillers used for my treatment was RADIESSE Volumizing filler which contains Calcium Hydroxylapatite microspheres in a water-based gel. The gel will be absorbed overtime and the body will metabolize the microspheres and only our own natural collagen will be left behind. RADIESSE is also the only dermal filler that actually provides long lasting results and formation of new collagen.

According to Dr Soh, the fillers will last up to 9 to 12 months.

Checking out myself after the fillers were done. I was pretty overwhelmed by the results which was immediate as you could see. I felt that with my new nose and lifted cheeks, I was given a new lease of life. Not that I had a face off, as you can see, I’m still me. Just that my newly defined features gave me confidence. Especially in the case of my nose, which I had gotten picked on before. I was blessed with pretty nice eyes and lips, so all that’s left to be criticized by people was my nose. And now, they are left with nothing that they can criticized on. :’)

A photo with Chanel, MFP TV’s Host and Dr Karen Soh who did magic on my face! XD Thanks so much Dr Soh!

Another photo with Chanel and Bianca! My facial expressions looks a little stiff as the effects of the numbing cream have not gone off.

Now, a closer look at the before and after photos! Frontal where you can see the cheeks on the left before were like flat. On the right which is after, the cheeks are fuller and more defined.

Next the nose, on the left, totally flat and it’s like a huge bottom. On the right, see the bridge and more pointy nose! XD

This photo below was taken by my phone 3 days after the treatment. Features are defined, giving the face a more 3 dimension look. And yes, no liquidfying of the face at all, I have a V-shaped face. It’s further defined and more obvious after the cheek fillers. Friends commented that I somehow look nicer (from the guys) and some love my new nose bridge and how it looks more defined! Some said my face looked smaller also!

Photo below is taken one week after the treatment. To be honest, if I did not tell you about it, will you have knew it that I went for fillers? Everything looked so natural! After the treatment, I’m very happy about my more defined look and it made me more confident. Lesser make up is used, no need to shade that nose nor the jaw area anymore. XD I feel good in my bare skin and I’m really a happier person now. xD

Consultation at Privé

20120715-015846.jpgWent for a consultation at Privé with Dr Karen Soh on Saturday morning to determine the procedures that I’ll be doing for my face makeover! I would say it’s best to have a rough idea of what you want when doing fillers/botox. Do you want a sharper nose, smaller jaw etc? It’s easier that way and Dr Soh will advice you if it’s suitable for you etc.

20120715-015935.jpg

By looking at my photo, I’m pretty sure you guys know that I wanted to do something about that flat nose bridge. So I told Dr Soh I wanted fillers for the nose and perhaps botox to slim down the cheeks cause I’ve a puffy face. I also asked for her recommendation and she suggested cheek fillers as my cheek area right above the cheek bone is quite flat.

To be honest, I did not actually realized my cheek area is flat. In a way, sometimes the areas we think need alteration are fine but those we think is fine might need some enhancement. Which is why it’s good to seek professional advice. But of course, beauty is subjective.

I’m actually quite happy after the consultation as Dr Soh commented that I’ve high cheekbones, strong chin and relatively nice jawline. Hee!

And so I’m going to do my procedures very soon and I can’t wait for my new look! Plus it’s my very first aesthetic fillers procedure! (I’m scared of needles though. >;<;) So excited! Hee! Stay tune to my update on my new look! XD
