Colourpop Super Shock Shadows Review

Colourpop Super Shock Shadows

Colourpop has been out for a long while and I finally succumb to temptations and ordered myself a couple of the Colourpop Super Shock Shadows myself after hearing all the good reviews! Plus at USD 5 a pop, it’s not too much of a loss even if it’s not as good as the review say.

Colours I’ve Gotten:

  • Luckfully (Pearlized)
  • Liberty (Ultra-Metallic)

The texture of these Super Shock Shadows is pretty interesting. It feels like cream or I would say mousse. But it dries to a nice powder finish. Which is great because you do not have to deal with fallouts as with the usual powder shadows formulas. One thing to note is that you have to keep these shadows tightly capped if not they will probably dry out very quickly. You do not want that to happened even though these shadows are like super affordable. After exchange rate and shipping, each shadow is probably around $8.50 or less.

Verdict

Is spending USD 5 each worth for these shadows? Are they worth the trouble to get via an agent or the hefty shipping price?

YES!

But do read up on the reviews and look up on swatches online before deciding which to get. Because not all shadows are made equal! The star of my haul is definitely Liberty in the Ultra-metallic finish. I feel that you can’t go wrong with this finish and also the metallic ones!

Lasting power wise, they hold up for decently for a day at work(10 hours approx) without primer!

Have you gotten any of the Super Shock Shadows? Let me know which is your favourite!

H&M Beauty Haul + First Impression

H&M Beauty Department Launch

So H&M beauty was launched recently and how can I not check it out right? Especially I’m pretty much a H&M fashion person, ditching my usual F21 and New Look(No longer in SG) when it first opened in Singapore.

Availability:

  • One Raffles Place
  • Orchard Building (Somerset)

Price Range: $7.90 to $19.90 ( Just double checked prices)

  • Paradise Found
  • Water Sprite

For $9.90 a pop, the shadows are of pretty good quality with decent colour payoff. Not all shades are equal though so do a swatch before making your choices. I’m pleasantly surprised that their mattes are pretty smooth, good in pigmentation and most importantly not chalky at all. These singles are also better than the palettes that H&M also carries.

H&M Beauty Gossamer Lip Stain

hm-lip-stain-wand

Price: $14.90

Colours I’ve Gotten:

  • Have A Heart
  • Raspberry Pop
  • Leading Lady

These stains are sweet and I meant it literally. They have this sweet candy taste when applied and makes you felt like eating them. Lasting power wise is decent but it does leave behind a very light stain to keep the colour. I think there’s a total of 6 or 7 shades for this range.

H&M Beauty Metallic Lip Stick

hm-beauty-metallic-lip

Price: $19.90

Colours I’ve Gotten:

  • Sugar & Spice

Instead of the usual creamy lipsticks, I decided to go with this Metallic one with such a lovely colour payoff. It’s smooth and creamy and the colour definitely pops when worn! Sugar & Spice is one of the brighter and wearable shades in my opinion. There’s an actual gold metallic one which is pretty awesome if you want to rock the gold lip look for Halloween.

Verdict

hm-beauty-lipsticks

The range of products is quite extensive from lip pencils to eye shadow palettes to foundations and even face masks. Definitely very affordable but I must say that not everything is value for money. For an example, the micellar water is totally passable. Save that $9.90 and get something that actually works better at Watsons.

Lips sticks and single eyeshadows are worth to check out. $2.90 a pop for a mask is not too bad either. I swatched the blushers and some powdered bronzers and they are mediocre. But for that price tag, they are pretty decent.

Availability:

  • Sephora Stores Island Wide
  • Sephora Online
  • Make Up For Ever Pro loft

Price: $35

Range: 46 shades (31 Cream Finishes and 15 Matte Finishes)

Was just nice at the Pro loft on the launch date so I got a little overboard with swatching and playing with the brand new testers and ended up bringing 6 new lippies home from the Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge range.

The lipsticks used to be at $38 a pop and now they are only at $35 a pop! Isn’t it awesome when quality makeup are made more affordable? 🙂

The Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge lipsticks comes in two finishes and my haul consisted of only the cream finish. However, I did try on the matte finish along with my fellow artists while we were on course at the academy. The Matte finish one have pretty awesome staying power even after eating and drinking and it’s not drying at all!

The Cream finish one have a slightly shorter lasting power but it’s more moisturizing which is just how I like my lipsticks to be!

Hourglass Cosmetics Haul

Hourglass In Sephora Singapore!

hourglass haul

Hourglass Cosmetics is finally available in Sephora locally! Do note that it’s currently only available at the ION and Ngee Ann City outlets.

Hourglass is pretty much well known for it’s primer, and highlighters. Being a makeup fanatic and MUA, I know I need to check it out and get a couple of items myself.

hourglass haul review

I’ve got the Ambient Lighting Palette for $97 for 3 different shades. I feel that it’s pretty worth it as the size is pretty reasonable. You can’t really finish up a pan of highlighter even if you use it daily as you really only need a little each time. So I highly recommend this palette for those who want to try out Hourglass Cosmetics. The full sized highlighter is about $78 if I’m not wrong? I’ve also got two of the ambient lighting blushers which I quite like after swatching. The blushers are going at $59 each and swatch pretty smoothly. There are 6 shades available locally.

hourglass ambientpalette

Here’s a closer look at the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette. My favourite shade out of the 3 will be Incandescent Light which swatch really smooth and I love the nice glow. Great for fair skin tones! Dim Light has a slightly peachy tone which will give a soft, natural glow on most skin tones. Radiant Light is slightly darker, more like a bronzer than a highlight. This is a really versatile palette suitable for most skin tones. Can’t wait to start using it!

hourglass blush swatch

I’ve got two of the Ambient Lighting Blush in Incandescent Electra and Mood Exposure.

Incandescent Electra is a pretty soft peachy coral shade with a sheen. Now that I look at it, it kinds of reminds me of NARS Orgasm but with a smoother shimmer.

Mood Exposure is one of those brown toned blusher that will look great on all skin tones. I got these blushers during the 20% Sephora sale and I noticed that the pinky shades got OOS very quickly while there’s loads of Mood Exposure left. I think most people are unsure about using a brown toned blusher but it can look really nice for most neutral looks. And giving you that natural looking flush!

One similar shade to Mood Exposure is Exposed from Tarte. Mood Exposure is more neutral while Exposed has more pink tones.

Both the highlighters and blushers are very soft and smooth upon swatching. Will give an update after using these on the face!

Sephora Haul February 2016

It has been a long time since I last did a haul post. Or rather, it has been a long time since I last went beauty shopping.

I got interested in the Foreo Luna recently as I’m tired of switching up products to try heal up my acne prone skin. Back when I was using my Clarisonic Mia, my skin was pretty clear but now it’s too harsh for my sensitive skin. And it’s rather troublesome to have to replace the brush heads every couple of months.

I did a quick research and read that the Foreo Luna is much gentler and the new version 2 have got one specifically for sensitive skin.

Sephora haul Foreo The Foreo Luna 2 is going at $299 and they are giving away complementary cleansers by their brand with every purchase of the Luna 2. I doubt I’ll be using those though.

Am currently in a daily masking routine so I picked up a couple of new masks to try. The Sephora Lotus Mask, wanted to get the Rose one but it was OOS. This is going at $16 for 5 pieces which is pretty expensive for paper mask. I’ve also got the Peter Thomas Roth Rose Stem Cell Gel Mask as I’ve read good reviews on the brand. Plus this was on the Sephora’s favorite shelf. Pretty expensive at $83 for 150ml tub. Let’s hope it works well.

How can I not get makeup on a beauty shopping trip? Have been seeing mentions of Burberry lipsticks so I decided to check it out. These Lip & Cheek Bloom Blushing Color caught my eyes instead as I’m a huge fan of 2 in 1 products. Got two shades in Poppy and Purple Tulip after swatching. Will be reviewing these in a separate post after using them. This is retailing at $47 each.

This caught my eye while I was queing up to pay for my purchases. Sephora is smart to make us queue along the product shelves. I did a quick google and decided to get it after reading one review that it works. This is called The Original MakeUp Eraser which is a cloth that can remove your makeup with just water. Can’t wait to try it out for myself. This is $30.

So that sums up my haul at Sephora! Let me know if you want me to review the other items I got and I will do up a post after using them.

XOXO,
Joyce.Forensia
