I went for my first treatment with Adonis last Thursday and I was really excited as it’s my very first facial! The facial that I experience was the Sparkle Peel also known as the Flora Peel previously. I would say that I am very happy with the whole experience and really enjoyed the whole process!
Let me bring you through my first facial experience! XD
So I decided to take a photo of my bare face before I head to the facial. >< Look at all the redness, bumps etc. Haiz…… The skin is a bit tired due to late nights too. >< Oh well…
I was asked to soak my feet in warm water with essential oils added in while they prepare the room for the facial. It’s really nice and relaxing. XD
I was lead into the facial room, where the lights are dim, aromas of the essential oils and light relaxing music. The whole atmosphere just put one at ease.
At the start of the facial, the beautician cleanse my face first before proceeding to apply a peel which actually exfoliates and remove dead skin from the face. Next, she pull in a machine to “steam” my face. It’s not really steam as it’s actually cold. It’s meant to close up our pores. XD
After the “steaming”, I was given a trim for my eyebrows followed by a facial massage that focus on the acupoints of the face. The beautician then push in the Symphony machine as seen in the above photo. It’s actually like a massage using electro-waves from a electronic massager but on the face. I have a massage machine at home which includes those gel pads to be used on different points on our body. This is similar except that it’s for the face. There is a choice of Symphony Beats for different effects. The beautician will adjust it accordingly to your needs. In a course, the beats are not constant or rather the “pattern” of the beats will change after 1 or 2 minutes. This is actually good as it targets all the acupoints on the face.
I was given a Hot Eye Mask while doing the Symphony beats too. The mask will heat up as time passes but the feeling is super refreshing in a way. It kind of awaken my tired eyes. 😛
I was given a shoulder massage and it was good. My shoulders were very tight so I asked the beautician to go on strong and it’s really good. My shoulders feels so much more relaxed after the massage.
After that, the beautician applied the flora essence peel to my face in two layers. She applied the first layer and fan it dry before applying the 2nd layer. When she was applying the peel, I can smell the distinctive herbal smell but it’s expected since the peel consists of 100% flora essence. It stings a little when the peel is being applied but the feeling subsided when it’s fan dried.
Here’s a photo taken right after the facial. I actually have the peel on my face as I have to leave it on for 8 hours for it to take on its full effect.
This Sparkle Peel facial involves no extraction at all. Instead, the peel will cause some breakouts which is normal as it’s purging the acne and all out from beneath the skin. My face started to peel mildly, 2 days after the facial. Now it’s around 6 days since the facial and there’s still some slight peeling but the skin feels relatively smooth. XD
Here’s the instruction given to me from the beautician. I was also given a balancing cream to apply. Was also advice to apply sunblock both day and night as the skin is quite vulnerable while it’s peeling.
I received a follow up call from Adonis on Monday where they asked about the condition of the skin and also reminding me to put on sunblock and to mask and moisturize more to smoothen the process of the peeling.
Here’s another photo of my bare skin. My skin appears “whiter” cause of the lighting. But you can definitely see that my skin ain’t that dull and tired anymore. Also the redness is not that clustered up anymore. I just need to wait for the bumps that are purged out to clear away. XD
Can’t wait for my next treatment with Adonis! XD
Remember to vote for me! XD
Remember, you can vote daily! XD
Here’s some good news to share with all of you! I’m one of the finalists in Singapore Blog Awards 2011 in the ADONIS Best Beauty Blog category along with 9 other beautiful ladies!
I was super excited when SBA2011 have included a beauty blog category this time round and super happy to know that I actually am one of the finalists! To me it’s a very big deal as being able to make it into the top 10 is a big recognition for my blog! My beauty blog to me is like my child, I put in loads of effort and time in it and is very proud of it. Hence, I’m really happy that the team behind SBA deem my blog worthy to be one of the top 10.
Ok, so we had a briefing over at ADONIS at Vivocity recently on what we are to expect during the period of the competition.
The briefing was held at the ADONIS @Vivocity outlet.
Do you know that the name ADONIS was originated from a male Greek God which represents beauty and youth?
The kind people of ADONIS provided us with refreshments, different types of tea that are good for our health plus some pastries! XD
How can a post goes without my face! LOL!
So we went through the briefing and did an interview with the OMY.SG crew, after that we also did some analyses to check on our skin condition and also our inner health. Over at ADONIS, they not only care for your beauty on the outer, but also your inner health. Beauty come from within, and ADONIS aims to help all women with that.
I actually did brought my camera along but was too engrossed with all the tests and such that I forgot to take photos! So there won’t be visuals to accompany my thoughts on the tests.
I did my skin analysis first and as expected, inflammation, redness and very clustered up nose with loads of blackheads! But luckily, no other problems showed up other then those that I know I have. 😛
This is an interesting test. The consultant will take a photo of your iris with a device and it will be magnified to about 30X bigger so that they can look at the patterns of the iris and from there, they will be able to know about your inner health.
Just when the consultant was taking a photo of my iris, she comment that I must have sleeping problems. Apparently the pupil of our eyes should only be like 1/3 the size of the outer ring but mine was like half the size. The consultant also mentioned that I have bowel problems and some slight liver problems too. She also said that my body is currently full of toxic that other problems could not be spotted. Hence she recommended me to start with detoxification first as it’s the biggest problem I have.
Live Blood Analysis
For this live blood analysis, the consultant will prick your pinky with a device to obtain a small drop of blood which she will observe under the microscope with the image being projected on a LCD screen.
For my case, I have too much protein in my system and apparently too much protein will become acidic and it’s not good for the joints. I’m also lacking in calcium which might lead to osteoporosis if I do not start to have a regular intake of diary products for calcium. The consultant also observe that my white blood cells are smaller then my red blood cells and it means that my immunity is lower then normal. This is because a healthy white blood cell should be bigger then the red blood cells. Also my red blood cells are clustered together and its not good too as the blood cells should be singular. Surprisingly, the fatty acids in my blood is only a little bit! I expect it to be clustered as I have quite an unhealthy diet. ><
To sum up, I have a lot of toxic in my body and I am sadly very unhealthy. >< Both consultant advice that I should first detox my body so that my body is able to absorb other nutrients.
This is the Aloe Pine Pollen that ADONIS carries which is meant for detox. According to the box, I should take 2 capsules every time before I sleep. However, the consultant who did the blood analysis for me recommend that I start with 3 instead as 2 might not be enough. I guess my body is really filled with toxic. ><
Other then the Aloe Pine Pollen, they have other products to cater for other needs too! For example the Nano Calcium to replenish calcium in our body and Nano Collagen to supply our body with ample collagen. They also have a product for partial slimming!
Over at ADONIS, they not only provide facial services, but also body treatments to manicure etc. Also, they used only 100% natural ingredients in the essences and serums that they used in their procedures.
To be honest, I have never done any facials before and I do not know what to expect for my first treatment with ADONIS. However, I am put at ease knowing that they only use natural ingredients in their procedures and also the atmosphere at ADONIS really is quite soothing.
I am very excited to be part of this and will be going through 3 treatments with ADONIS in the weeks to come. I can’t wait to share my experiences with ADONIS with all of you!
Disclaimer: All opinions stated were my truth and honest thoughts. I’m not compensated in any monetary form for this post.
I got this mask way back in February and I love it! It’s worth every cent of the $26.90 that I have paid for it. I bought it for novelty sake initially and I’m really glad I got it as it really works quite well for me.
Thick white cream with red beads inside. You can’t really see as the flash exposed the cream. ><
So here’s a clearer look at the creamy mask. Apply a relatively thick, not too thick, but not too thin either, wait for it to bubble up in about 3 – 5 minutes and wash off with warm water. You will be surprised by the instant brightening effect! Let me show you.
In order not to waste product, I only apply a very thin layer on my hand. You go a lil thicker then this when you apply on your face. It needs to be a lil thick for it to bubble up.
I wiped off half after a minute and this is what you get.
The brightening effect last for above 2 days. The longer you used it, you will notice that your overall complexion will become brighter slightly.
I personally think that it’s a perfect product to brighten up a dull/tired face.
Highly recommend this product to all of you! XD Hope that you all find this review useful!
Attended an event at Drink Culture.
I love the deco of the place!
Here’s me~ XD
Comfy sofas! I would love to have something like that in my future home if I will ever have one. LOL.
Logo printed on the chairs. It gives a very vintage feel I think.
Here’s the bar! Super nice! If only the bar I worked at was this nice. LOL.
Another shot of the bar~
We had a demo session during the event, showcasing the how the products actually work in such a way that it’s good for our skin.
First up was on oil based MU remover. It’s good to use an oil cleanser that actually can mix with water so that it can remove the dirt/makeup efficiently and not clog our pores. The milky one is the one which mixes well with water.
And here’s another one on facial cleansers. These 2 cleansers are mixed with sodium chloride, the closest thing to the sweat that are produced from our sweat glands. A good cleanser would be able to dissolve the sodium chloride. But if the cleanser became lumpy after mixing with the sodium chloride, it means that it can’t really cleanse our face well. Imagine that lump white stuff on our face, and the fact that it will turn hard overtime. >< Time to test out the cleansers we used at home! If it turned lumpy as seen in the picture below, best to throw it out! LOL!
Last demo was on anti-oxidants! How can it help with pigmentation? Let’s see with our own eyes! Here’s a sheet of paper stained by iodine.
Add the drop of Anti-oxidant chemical on it and see what happens,
If only they have such instant effects on the pigmentations on our skin. ><
Here’s another random pic! My drink of the day, Desert Rose, a very refreshing drink.
With Michelle! XD
Kimberly and Charlene with the pearl curtains! Rusty was supposed to be in the photo too but she was looking at Michelle’s camera instead in this pic.
Here’s all three of them gorgeous ladies!
And here’s one with Rusty and Michelle! Group photo of all 5 of us is with Michelle.~
Received a goodie bag at the end of the event which includes skincare samples, a BB cream and a cleansing oil which was used in the demo. Will be reviewing the products in a separate post! So look out for it!
I really like the environment of Drink Culture, the furnishing and atmosphere. Will be going back again! XD
