Hello 2015!

Hello 2015!

Happy New Year by the way people!

I know I’m a little late for new year greetings and a tad too early for Chinese new year ones.

Hope 2015 have been kind to everyone so far. 🙂

I am not going to go through a list of new year resolutions as I hardly ever achieve anything all these years.
Hence I don’t really see a point to think of resolutions that I will probably forget a few weeks into the new year.

2014 have been a rough year for me.
Been through job changes, new environments and having to adapt and learn the ropes all over again twice. I’m glad to say at least I’m happy with where I’m now though I’ve longer working hours and not working in the glamorous CBD area anymore.

The blog have been pretty stagnant too as I was distracted with too many things that have been going on in my life. I changed to a self hosted server and switched to a simpler layout. Come this year, I’ll give more love to this virtual space which I proudly call mine. I’ve also made exciting plans in terms of beauty for myself and the blog. Will sure once it’s 100% confirmed! 🙂

Health wise, I’ve fallen sick more times than before. I’ve also neglected exercise in the latter half of 2014. This time round, I am going to allocate time for exercise which I will commit to in 2015.

Weight wise is still on the high side but I’ve NouriFBC to thank for, as I’ve dropped inches and half a size. Now, XL is too big for me when it used to fit just nice, and I can fit into M for certain cuttings.

I want to try to go all out to get to my ideal body size and weight this 2015. And also for health sake, did I ever mention that I have high cholesterol two years back? I’m not sure if it went down as I did not have a chance to go for a test since. I have not been watching my diet carefully though I’m proud to say I quit bubble tea and even if i do drink it, it will be 0% sugar. I also cut down a lot on fast good, probably had it less than 10 times in 2014.

I think one thing I failed in life ever since I started working is that I do not save. It is a bad habit to be living on your monthly pay with nothing to fall back on. It won’t be easy saving much with the plans I have for 2015 but I aim to at least clear all my debts(still paying my study loan for Polytechnic) and have at least two months worth of salary as emergency savings.

Got to curb all those retail therapy urges and find some other harmless to the pocket activities when I need to release some stress.

It’s also quarter life crisis for me this 2015, hitting that 25 mark. Gosh, I can’t believe that I’m turning 25 so soon! It felt like I’ve just graduated from Polytechnic. I decided that to handle this “crisis”, I’m going to put focus on self improvement. Be it work, personal, mentally or physically, I want to be a better person.

And nope, this post shall not have any images. I have also decided that I want to write more this year too.

Looking forward to a great 2015 with you guys!

Cousins* Annual Picnic V

5th Annual Picnic at the Barrage! Missing Conan, Kaixin and Dawn who left early! Credits to JingLong for above collages!

The annual picnic is one of our traditions, to gather and just chill and take down memories in form of photos. It’s a celebration of our friendship!

We have a little one with us this time! Jiaqi’s 8 month old nephew who’s so adorable! Who knows, couple of years down the road we will be bringing out our own kids for the gathering. Lol

The girls! Missing Dawn who left early and Kaixin who’s not there. We don’t initially have so many girls in the group but our guys got girlfriends who eventually got so close that we became one big family! Kudos to RX and Amanda who made the effort to join us on the many gatherings while sacrificing quality couple time. :p

And the boys! I can’t believed that I’ve known Weijie since 2008 which means I known him for nearly 7 years already. Missing Conan who sadly kena NDP duty.

Cousins* officially bonded since 2010 with the beginnings of our many traditions. Many people often mistakes us as real cousins. Lol. From bloggers, to friends and I’ll say we are like family now. The best thing that ever happened to me from blogging is Cousins*. Many more years ahead of us, many more picnics, many more Xmas staycations and many more memories to be created.

BFF Staycation at Village Hotel Katong

I’ve previously won a staycation voucher through a food contest held at Central at Clarke Quay some months ago. So I’ve decided to have a girly staycation with my BFFs to just chill and take some time off the usual work routine.

This is the Club Room at the Village Hotel Katong which was just newly renovated. The club room comes with access to the Peranakan Lounge where they have cocktail sessions during the evening and morning.

The club room is pretty spacious and well decorated to the Peranakan theme. I’m loving the blue hues used in the room. The mini bar is located just beside the curtains. I like the long desk with mirror which is great for us girls to lay out our make up and beautify ourselves. It will be better if the mirrors are not tinted.

Cosy sofa area just beside the bed.

Toilet is pretty spacious with a standing shower and rain shower.

I would love to have such a mirror in my future home! Ring light mirror!!

Enough of the room! Here’s one with my BFF Joey!

And here’s with BFF Maybeline!

I got Puppy Cupcakes from Temptations specially for this Staycation as both my BFFs are dog lovers!

Underneath that cute puppy fondant face is Red Velvet wonder! Yums! It’s not too sweet but I wished there could be more cream cheese!

I also ordered half a dozen of rose macarons. Done very nicely. 🙂

One of the best highlights of 2013 for me, is getting to know this 2 lovely ladies better and since became BFFs. We don’t know each other for very long, yet we can click pretty well. I’m glad to have you girls in my life! 🙂

Christmas Staycation at Capri By Fraser

Since Studio M in 2010, it had became a tradition for us ( cousins*) to have a staycation every year to celebrate Christmas.

This year, our 4th year, we had our Staycation at Capri By Fraser. One of the main reasons we decided on this hotel is because they have a kitchenette that we could use to cook our own meals.

Let me show you some photos of the room first.

Here’s the main area, the bed and lounge. There’s actually a separator thing you can put down at night to border off the sleeping area which is pretty cool!

The not so well equipped Kitchenette but sufficient for us. It will be great if they have a toaster oven.

Here’s the toilet which has two doors. One leading into the bedroom and the other leading to the wardrobe which links to the doorway and kitchen. The toilet is very spacious, which is comparable to the MBS one.

The kitchen was mainly utilize by me. We bought loads of food like seaweed chicken, nuggets etc. We also have spaghetti with two choice of sauce. Two packets of spaghetti is too much for even 12 people. So you know how much not to cook if you’re cooking for a party.

Check out our Christmas dinner! We also had roast chicken, ham and ribs that are already cooked.

Always take photo before eating. But to be honest, by the time all the food is cooked, most of the food are already cold. But still taste good! 🙂

This year, we decided to do a Secret Santa for our gift exchange and we took turns to hide our presents in the room. It was hectic when we all go around searching for our gifts. But it was super fun too! Counsin*, let’s do thing every year!

Us with our gifts! Jiaqi is my Secret Santa, thanks for the hand creams! 🙂

After that is dessert time! I ordered a cake from Temptations as a Christmas present to the rest. And I even *ahem* designed the cake myself. Which explains the spelling error. I didn’t realized it when I send in the draft! LOL! Totally joke of the day. But I’m glad everyone like the cake. 🙂

This year, Jing Long thought of a game, Blind Mice which is something like catching. Just that the catcher had to be blindfolded. I tell you, it’s was super fun that we were playing till 1.30am. LOL.

Next morning, couple of us decided to wake up early and utilize the hotel facilities since we have late check out at 2 pm instead of the usual 12 pm. Even though it was freezing cold, we still went for a dip in the pool! I think we spent 40 minutes in the pool then went for shower before we head back up to the room to prepare breakfast.

So for breakfast, I took over the stove again. Cooked the scrambled eggs, fried the chicken franks and Hash browns.

Taken from my instagram (@forest330). That is some awesome breakfast we managed to whip up! And kudos to Jing Long for the nice plating!

The lighting is the morning was awesome so it’s camwhore time! Just going to post two photos here! Haha.

4th Christmas Staycation success! Where shall we go next year?

Happy Boxing Day!

New Year New Beginnings~

It’s already the 2nd day of 2013 and it’s only now that feels more like a new year. This year I will become 23 years old, another year older. It’s still early but I felt like I’m facing a mid life crisis as my age increases. Haha.

Hence, I’ve decided. 2013 will be about me. I’m going to put more focus on personal well being. Not that I’m going to turn selfish, just that I’m going to put myself on first priority.

Love myself more, treat myself better, treasure myself more. I know I deserve better. And of course, giving myself more courage to chase my dreams.

Spent the last few days of the old year with awesome friends. And of course, the first few hours of the new year. These bunch of people (not all are pictured) have a precious place in my heart. They are probably the best thing that had happened in my life.

New year, new beginnings. And of course, new memories waiting for us to create!

To a great 2013!
