Clio Neon Nail Styler

I’ve received the Clio Neon Nail Stylers sometime back and here’s a tiny review!

These nail stylers are already available in Watsons and are retailing for $8.90 each. There’s a total of 6 colors and I’ve received the Orange, Blue and Hot Pink one. What’s special about these polishes is that they glow under UV light! Cool huh!

Here’s a swatch of the colors under UV lighting!

And here’s how it looked like on the nails under UV lighting. Quality of the polishes are pretty good, you can get a good opaque color in two to three coats. However, it chips quite easily if you don’t have on a top coat. With a top coat, it can last for a good one week.

I’ll rate it a 3/5!

Also received the Lipnicure which glows under UV too, will be reviewing that in a separate post!

Nail Art By Couture Nails

Many of you might have seen my nails designed by Aini from Couture Nails on instagram. I’m going to go through the designs I’ve done in for June!

20140708-134418-49458396.jpg The first design have a dark tone to it, a more goth feel which I love. The colors that are used are mainly black, red, white and gold. It’s a pretty classy set.

20140708-134417-49457675.jpg I like how Aini alternate the colors on both hands and if you realized, the checkered design on both hands are different too. Nail stickers and bling are also used in this set to glam up the whole design!

20140708-134420-49460605.jpg Always enjoy my pedicure session at Couture as they play movies at the sofa area. Different movie each week! I opted for a simple one color for my toes and added a ribbon on both big toes!

20140708-134419-49459047.jpgThe second set of nails I did in June are Little Twin Star Inspired! Don’t you love the color palette used in this set? The main color on both hands are different, with the same nail art.

20140708-134418-49458607.jpg Check out the hand drawn Kiki and Lala by Aini! So adorable! This is also why the main color of each hand is different, it follows the hair color of the character!

20140708-134418-49458753.jpg I really love how sweet this set is and I’ve gotten many comments on them! Notice that the blings on my ring fingers are star shaped?

20140708-134540-49540632.jpg Here’s a set of new nail art I noticed on my most recent visit! Crayon Shin chan and friends! Drawn by Aini too! If you love cartoon characters and wants them on your nails, Aini is the manicurist to look for! Of course, it will be good to give her a graphic reference.

Pastel Floral Nails By Couture Nails

Couture Nails is a newly opened nail salon located at Far East Plaza. They are located at unit #04-69. It’s a nice cosy salon that can accommodate up to 5 customers at a time.

They have a wide variety of normal nails and gelish colours!

Over at Couture Nails, they take great care in hygiene. For each new customer, they will use newly sanitized tools. Tools are stored in a special sterilized pouch after being sanitized. I am very sure they are the first nail salon that is having this practice.

Couture Nails is also my new sponsor for Manicure and Pedicure services. The nail artist there are capable to reproduce almost all designs requested as long as they have the supplies. I strongly recommend my nail artist, Aini who was also my previous manicurist. 🙂

Here’s the designs that she did for me on my first visit! Dotted floral matched with hot pink polish on the toes. toesfloral

I did acrylic extensions on my nails as they were quite short, followed by gelish nail art. I showed her a design and gave her the free reign to improvise the design. And this is the outcome which I really love. There’s the flowers I wanted, with my favourite pastel colours and there’s also bling and ribbons!

Haul: Illamasqua

For those who do not yet know, Illamasqua have arrived in our local shores, making its debut at Robinsons Orchard! I went there taking a look and end up leaving the counter with a modest haul. :p

Lipstick in ESP, retailing at SGD34.

I didn’t really have anything in mind while browsing through the counter. So I picked up a lipstick as I love lip colors. ESP is a bright violet in matt formula. It glides on pretty smoothly and is of a creamy texture.

Liquid Metal in Surge, retailing at SGD40.

I’ve heard good things about Illamasqua Liquid Metal so I didn’t hesistate to pick this up. Surge is a metallic silver with a brazzy tone to it. They have another on which is a pure silver. The texture is very creamy and buttery. I think it will be sure to crease so it’s best to apply on top of a primer.

Precision Ink in Wisdom, retailing at SGD36.

I decided that I would like to try out their liners and the BA recommended me their Precision Ink in Wisdom. Wisdom is a black base liner with gold glitters. The swatch don’t really does it justice as I think I forget to shake it. Will do a proper review for this liner in another post once I’ve used it enough!

Nail Varnish in Nomad retailing at SGD19.

Illamasqua has great polishes and I knew I had to get one. So I picked up Nomad which is a nice mint green. It goes on nicely with just 2 coats and dries pretty fast! Great formula!

That sums up my first Illamasqua haul! Would really love to try their blushes some other time but at the moment, the selection they have here in SG don’t really call out to me. To me Illamasqua is all about the bold and loud colors but the selection available here is the safer colors. Hopefully they will bring in the bold colors soon!

NOTW: Nail Foil Stickers

Here’s my nails of the week! Got these nail foil stickers from *Scape flea at just $2! They were going at 3 for $5. So it’s less than $2! And a free nail file with purchase of 3 or more! Cheap thrill!!

They are pretty easy to apply. You just have to find a size closest to your nail, stick it on as accurately as possible to your nail bed with the rounded side downward close to your cuticles. Then fold down excess and file off. You can choose to seal it off with a top coat so that it last longer.

I didn’t and by day 2, the stickers are peeling off. So best to sealed it up with top coat.

I won’t say they are lasting, maybe max 3-4 days depending on what you do with your hands. But good enough for something that’s $2. Will be great for the weekend if your work does not allow you to have fanciful nails!
