Genting Highlands Revamped

I’m pretty sure everyone had a memory of yourself visiting Genting Highlands when you’re much younger. Lodging at probably First World Hotel, playing at the old school outdoor theme park.

In fact, here’s my very own memory of visiting Genting Highlands 7 years ago. http://joyceforensia.com/2012/05/31/genting-travelogue-genting-in-a-glance/

Genting Highlands V.2019

I was invited to Resorts World Genting for a weekend trip recently and was pretty amazed at how much it has changed.

Lodging was at Theme Park Hotel located near the stadium where concerts are held at. I like the modern renovations and how cosy it was.

Food Galore at Resorts World Genting!

Day 1 lunch was at The Laughing Fish by Harry Ramsden. They served good old classic Fish & Chips in British style. Do you know that the British eat their fish & Chips with malt vinegar? You can try this pairing here at The Laughing Fish! They also served both Cod and Haddock for their fish & chips. I highly recommend the Haddock for more bite and flavor!

The Laughing Fish is located at Sky Avenue. And there are ton of nice restaurants located there!

Since we are on the topic of food, here’s two other food places that I recommend! Motorino for a good hearty Italian meal of pizza and pasta! I love that meatball by the way! And since we are in Malaysia, how can we miss out good old local food which can be enjoyed at Medan Selera. I had the Bakso which is really nice as we all know Genting Highlands can get a little chilly sometimes. 😛

Entertainment at Resorts World Genting

Now we all know that the outdoor theme park is not ready yet but there are still tons of things to check out and play at Resorts World Genting!

Firstly, I highly recommend checking out The Void at Skytropolis, the Indoor Theme Park! The VR experience there is truly out of the world! If you’re a Star Wars fan you should totally go try it out and have a close up experience with Darth Vader.

Rides at the Indoor Theme Park are not fully open and half the rides are very family friendly. But there are still rides that are gonna get your heart rate up! Mine went up to 122!! That Spin Crazy ride, you got to try it if you’re a thrill seeker.

There’s also an Adventure land area at the top floor where the cable car is located at where you can go through a variety of experiences. If you love Haunted Houses, you got to head to Zombie Outbreak and get a scare out of your life. I really respect the scare actors there, they did a very good job. Some more heart friendly experiences are Ripley’s Believe it or not and The Jurassic Research Center. I really like the Jurassic Research Center as I’m a fan of Dinosaurs. The interactive models are really fun to look at and I think they are made life sized so you will be glad they are just models and not real.

Lastly, for the party goers. There’s both Zouk and Red Tail Bar & Karaoke depending on what kind of a nightlife person you are. I’m not much of a clubber but I had fun playing beer pong at Red Tail and the Karaoke system there is legit ok. They even provide a mike stand per room for you to fulfil your superstar fantasy!

If you’re looking for a short getaway with cooling weather, then Genting Highlands could be your next destination!

XOXO,
